Accessibility Statement
Last updated: July 3, 2026
Summary
National Diabetic Exchange is designed to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. We use semantic HTML, visible focus indicators, sufficient color contrast, and keyboard-navigable interfaces throughout. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please contact us — we take every report seriously and aim to resolve issues promptly.
Our Commitment to Accessibility
National Diabetic Exchange is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We believe everyone should be able to get a quote, manage their shipment, and receive payment regardless of ability or assistive technology used.
We continually work to improve the accessibility of our Platform and welcome feedback from users of all abilities.
Conformance Standards (WCAG 2.1 AA)
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines are developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and represent the international standard for web accessibility.
Level AA conformance means we strive to ensure that:
- All content is perceivable through multiple senses (text alternatives for images, captions, sufficient contrast).
- All functionality is operable via keyboard, with no time-limited interactions.
- Content is understandable with clear language, predictable navigation, and helpful error handling.
- Content is robust enough to work reliably with current and future assistive technologies.
Measures Taken
We have implemented the following measures to ensure accessibility:
- Semantic HTML. We use proper heading hierarchy, landmarks, lists, and ARIA attributes throughout.
- Keyboard navigation. All interactive elements (buttons, links, form fields, dropdowns) are operable via keyboard with visible focus indicators.
- Color contrast. Text and interactive elements meet minimum contrast ratios of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text.
- Form accessibility. All form fields have associated labels, required fields are indicated, and error messages are programmatically associated with their fields.
- Responsive design. The site adapts to different screen sizes and supports text resizing up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- Skip navigation. A skip-to-content link is available for keyboard users to bypass repetitive navigation.
- Alt text. All informative images have descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are marked appropriately.
- Motion. We respect the “prefers-reduced-motion” system setting and minimize animations throughout.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full conformance, we are aware of the following areas where accessibility may not yet meet Level AA standards:
- PDF shipping labels. Prepaid shipping labels generated as PDFs may not be fully accessible to screen readers. We recommend contacting support if you need assistance printing your label.
- Third-party content. Some embedded content from third-party services (such as payment processor portals) may not fully conform to WCAG standards and is outside our direct control.
We are actively working to address these limitations and will update this statement as improvements are made.
Assistive Technology Compatibility
Our Platform is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
- Screen magnification software
- Speech recognition software (Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Voice Control)
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Switch devices and alternative input methods
We test primarily with VoiceOver (macOS/iOS) and NVDA (Windows) on current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
Feedback & Reporting Issues
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our Platform. If you encounter a barrier, have difficulty using any feature, or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us:
Email: nae@phinmedicalsupplies.com
Subject line: Accessibility Feedback
When reporting an issue, it helps to include: the page URL, a description of what you were trying to do, the assistive technology and browser you were using, and any error messages encountered.
We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 3 business days and resolve identified issues within 30 days where technically feasible.
Enforcement & Compliance
This statement was last reviewed on July 3, 2026. We review our accessibility practices at least annually and after any major Platform updates.
While there is currently no federal web accessibility law that specifically mandates compliance for private businesses of our size, we voluntarily adhere to WCAG 2.1 AA as a best practice and in alignment with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as interpreted by the Department of Justice.
If you believe you have been discriminated against on the basis of disability in your use of our Platform, you may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, at ada.gov.
